Plain Rice

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter, optional
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley, optional
Firstly gather the ingredients; after that, rinse the rice, drain the water and set the rest aside.
In a medium-sized pan, boil two cups of water and let it boil. Add salt, stir, and add the rice and stir again. Cover the rice and leave it for 20 minutes. After about 15 minutes, check to see if water has evaporated. If it has, rice is ready; otherwise, let it cook for 5 more minutes.
